Tierra del Fuego possesses the largest concentration of peat bogs in the Argentine Republic, although the details of its extension are still unknown. It is estimated that the inventoried area is less than 5% of the total peat bog area. These extensions highlight the importance peat bogs have in the composition of Tierra del Fuego’s landscape.

TURBERA AUSTRAL S.A. has facilities in peat moss deposits in Tolhuin and production plants in the city of Bahía Blanca, in the province of Buenos Aires.
